ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany County is taking steps to increase awareness about elections by focusing on engaging young voters. On Friday, county legislators, the League of Women Voters, and the Board of Elections Task Force announced an "I Voted" sticker contest and new voter legislation. To increase awareness about voter rights, legislators are sponsoring a voter disclosure policy that would make it easier for voters to find out about races and the process. The policy change would incorporate QR codes at polling locations so voters can easily access frequently asked questions concerning the vote at hand. Arrest made in Schenectady CDTA bus stabbing

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a stabbing on a CDTA bus. Carlos Prince, 29, of Albany, was arrested on April 7 and charged with second-degree attempt to commit murder, which is a felony. On March 15 around 7:30 p.m., the victim and a friend were on a CDTA bus on State Street in Schenectady when Prince allegedly began verbally harassing them. Prince is then accused of stabbing the victim with a knife multiple times.The victim had injuries to their chest and abdominal areas, as well as their head. They werebrought to Albany Medical Center.

Suspect pleads not guilty in Janae Edmondson crash

ST. LOUIS - The man charged in connection with a crash that resulted in a Tennessee teen losing her legs was arraigned this morning in downtown St. Louis. The arraignment fo Daniel Riley, 21, took place inside the Carnahan Courthouse in Division 25.The indictment charged Riley with five counts from the crash, which left 17-year-old Janae Edmondson critically injured. Riley’s attorney, Dan Diemer, entered a not guilty plea for Riley. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office had a representative in the courtroom.Riley was not in court, nor did he appear on video for the arraignment. Diemer waived the formal reading of the charges, instead just entering a not guilty plea for Riley. No one from Janae’s family was in court either. ST. LOUIS - A man accused in a homicide investigation out of St. Louis' Baden neighborhood face criminal charges nearly half a year later. Prosecutors have charged Stefhon Hawkins, 26, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Ryan Thompson, 33, on Sept. 24, 2022. It's unclear what caused the head injury, but police say there was no evidence that he was fatally shot. Charging documents were filed in court Wednesday. Hawkins is jailed in St. Louis City without bond. An order of detention was filed in his case Friday, and his next court appearance is scheduled for next Thursday.

The lobby of a Los Angeles Police Department station in Exposition Park is closed indefinitely after a man walked in with shopping cart lit with flames late Thursday, officials said.The incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. at the LAPD’s Southwest Station, located at 1546 W.
